Bentonite Milling Machinery Supplier

Milling, sometimes also known as fine grinding, pulverising or comminution, is the process of reducing materials to a powder of fine or very fine size. Bentonite grinding is quite often an integral part of an industrial process, whether carried out on a large or small scale and in some cases the grinding mill may be the single most costly item for the production operation. Installing a grinding mill which is suitable for the purpose would be one of the main requirements for cost-effective and trouble-free material processing if a grinding stage is involved.

Bentonite Milling Machinery

Nowadays, various types of grinding mills have been developed for certain applications. Of these grinding mills, some mills can grind different materials, but others could be only used for certain specific grinding requirements. Bentonite Powder Processing Plant

Mined bentonite first is transported to the processing plant. The material then is passed through a grizzly and crusher to reduce the clay pieces to less than 2.5 cm in size. Next, the crushed bentonite is dried in rotary or fluid bed dryers fired with natural gas, oil, or coal to reduce the moisture content to 7 to 8 percent. The temperatures in bentonite dryers generally range from 900буC at the inlet to 100 to 200буC at the outlet.

The dried material then is ground by means of roller or hammer mills. At some facilities which produce specialized bentonite products, the material is passed through an air classifier after being ground. Soda ash also may be added to the processed material to improve the swelling properties of the clay.
